Description
Bluff City United Methodist Church is the center of worship for the oldest continually meeting Methodist congregation in the State of Tennessee. In the late 1700s, pioneers Edward and Sally Cox used their log cabin to hold worship services for friends and neighbors... The 2-story log cabin is still standing on a farm not too far away. Bishop Francis Asbury, the father of American Methodism, often rode his circuit on horseback to hold services there. Today, the Bluff City United Methodist Church is proudly standing strong in in the little town of Bluff City in Northeast Tennessee.
