Description
A heavy fog rolled in over the South Fork at the Weir Dam one morning in early Summer. The fog, coupled with the onset of a storm, gave a mysterious, somewhat eerie feel to the changing faces of the South Holston River. This monochrome image also has a retro feel, with a throwback to the vintage black-and-white movies of the ‘40s and ‘50s era. With an air of mystery, it was a beautiful sight! Hope you enjoy this artwork!

Wonderful composition! I wonder what the exposure was? There's not very much motion in the flow of the water so that indicates around 1/30th perhaps? The highlights in the clouds are clipped somewhat. However, I love the reflections in the water.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
