Description
The warm glow of the sunset was casting a beautiful light on the historic Cannonball House and Blountville Methodist Church at Historic Blountville in Northeast Tennessee. The two historic sites were targeted by the Union Army in 1863 in its efforts to destroy the little village during the Battle of Blountville in 1863. Remnants of cannonballs may be seen in the west side of the Cannonball house today. Located in Sullivan County, Historic Blountville was founded in 1795, just one year prior to the formation of the grand state of Tennessee.
