The interior of Nashville’s Union Station is beyond stunning! Complete with three crystal chandeliers, and a domed, stained glass atrium, the 65-foot barrel-vaulted lobby features elaborate sculptures and intricate molding.... Truly a fine example of historic preservation! Union Station was built in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1900 as an epicenter of American travel. It served 8 railroads. Union Station ceased operation as a railroad station in 1979, and in more recent years, the facility was purchased by Marriott Hotel and added to their Autograph Collection. Now a hotel, it is a member of Historic Hotels of America and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
