Description
The old Chuckey Train Depot was built in 1906 and served the community of Chuckey, Tennessee until the depot was closed in 1962. A local hardware store owner purchased the depot and used it for storage for several years. In 2010, the Watauga Railroad Historical Society and Museum, in conjunction with the Town of Jonesborough, purchased the old depot, dissembled it and reassembled beside the railroad tracks in downtown Jonesborough. Today, the historic structure is a museum with railroad artifacts and is open to the public. Just gotta love those old trains and train stations... Gone but not forgotten... Beautiful historic site in Northeast Tennessee!
