Description
Among the many things for which it is well-known, Louisville, Kentucky is noted for its historic old “Whiskey Row” and for being an integral part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. In our recent visit to Doc Crow's, a beautiful old pub and restaurant, I snapped a rather hurried shot, which captured only a small section of this gorgeous bar. Oh, my, at the choices! Louisville certainly has a lot to offer the weary traveler! Smiles.
Louisville is noted for being home of the Kentucky Derby. Louisville has many nicknames... Derby City, River City, Gateway to the South, Falls City and “the ville”. Louisville is also known as the home of boxer Muhammad Ali, the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Fried Chicken, the University of Louisville and its Cardinals, Louisville Slugger baseball bats, and three of Kentucky’s six Fortune 500 companies. Louisville is also famous for its wonderful food, including the Kentucky hot brown and Derby pie, not to mention its Kentucky Bourbon. The Urban Bourbon Trail boasts over 35 bars and restaurants with more than 60 bourbons and bourbon-inspired culinary delights, and has more than ten distilleries that are open for public tours and tastings.
