Description
Louisville, Kentucky is a beautiful city, and its sunsets over the Ohio River are stunning! We recently visited Louisville this summer, and I took this photograph just after sunset over the Abraham Lincoln Bridge. The colors were actually that intense and beautiful, and complimented the gorgeous architecture of the cable-stayed bridge. There was a small cloud on the horizon at far right, and the afterglow of sunset made that cloud look as if it were on fire. I did a 3-bracketed shot of this scene, but did not increase any saturation of colors in Photoshop. In post-processing this image, I was left with the question as to whether I should actually decrease the saturation, but my final thought was to leave as it is, which is exactly the way I saw it. It was truly amazing... Louisville sunsets are the best!
Louisville is noted for being home of the Kentucky Derby. Louisville has many nicknames... Derby City, River City, Gateway to the South, Falls City and “the ville”. Louisville is also known as the home of boxer Muhammad Ali, the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Fried Chicken, the University of Louisville and its Cardinals, Louisville Slugger baseball bats, and three of Kentucky’s six Fortune 500 companies. Louisville is also famous for its wonderful food, including the Kentucky hot brown and Derby pie, not to mention its Kentucky Bourbon. The Urban Bourbon Trail boasts over 35 bars and restaurants with more than 60 bourbons and bourbon-inspired culinary delights, and has more than ten distilleries that are open for public tours and tastings.
