Description
We recently visited a wonderful old country store not far from where we live near the Blue Ridge Mountains. The summer breeze was filled with some lively old-time music coming from the front porch late that evening, the kind of music traditionally found in the Appalachian Mountains. Just outside the store, we were delighted to find an old blacksmith shop with a skilled artisan hand-forging several pieces of ironwork. He took considerable time to explain his craft and the art of blacksmithing. Interesting to watch, and great to know that blacksmithing is not a lost art.
