Description
Palmer Chapel, a sweet little chapel tucked away in the forest in Cataloochee Valley in the Great Smoky Mountains... This scene was so peaceful and serene, and reminded me of the old song, “There will be peace in the valley one day.” We are blessed. Tucked away in Big Cataloochee Valley in a remote area of the Great Smoky Mountains, Palmer Chapel was constructed in 1898 on land donated by Mary Ann Palmer, and it was the only church in Big Cataloochee at that time. The community was so small it could not support a full-time minister, which resulted in services being held once a month by one of the circuit-riding preachers. Former residents still hold a reunion each year at the little church.
Thank you for viewing my gallery. I hope you will find my artwork worthy of hanging in your home or office, and trust you will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed presenting it to you.
