Located in Bristol, Virginia, the Bristol Train Station was locally known as Union Station and Bristol Train Station. The depot was built in 1902 by Norfolk and Western Railway at a cost of the structure was $79,000, the equivalency of nearly $2.5 million dollars today. The train station served passenger trains until 1971. The Bristol passenger depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 for its architectural and historic significance. My first train ride was when I was five years old as I left this station for a long trip to Baltimore to meet my father... Such wonderful memories!
