Downtown Bristol, Virginia-Tennessee is charming, especially on a warm summer evening. This view of East State Street shows the iconic Bristol sign, “Bristol VA-Tenn, A Good Place To Live”. The street banner in the upper right corner shows “The World’s Fastest Half-Mile”, referring to the exciting Bristol Motor Speedway located just southwest of the main part of town.

Bristol, Tennessee-Virginia is a unique city located on the border between Tennessee and Virginia. It is known as the "Birthplace of Country Music" and is home to the famous Bristol Motor Speedway, which hosts NASCAR races and other events throughout the year. The city is divided by State Street, with the Virginia side of the city known as Bristol, Virginia, and the Tennessee side known as Bristol, Tennessee. Despite being two separate states, the two cities share a strong sense of community and work together to promote economic development and tourism in the region. The city hosts several annual events, including the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival, the Bristol Motor Speedway's NASCAR races, and the Bristol Bluegrass Festival.
