Artist's Description
The old Carter Mansion was built circa 1775-1780 at present-day Elizabethton, Tennessee. The mansion is the oldest standing frame house in the State of Tennessee. John and Landon Carter were strong political and military leaders in the Watauga Settlement in the late 18th Century. Today, the historic Carter Mansion is managed by Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park and offers tours and special events throughout the year... A true gem and rare find in the history of Tennessee!
