This stunning black-and-white image of the Arthur J. Ravenel Bridge at Charleston, South Carolina is from our “Black Tie Event” Gallery of Fine Art. I took this image late one summer evening, fighting gnats and mosquitoes (smiles), but the joy of seeing this beautiful bridge was well worth the effort.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the city of Charleston, SC, I found myself standing on the banks of the Cooper River, mesmerized by the iconic silhouette of the Arthur J. Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Determined to capture its beauty in a timeless manner, I decided to take a black and white photograph.
The evening air was thick with the sweet scent of magnolias, but it wasn't long before I realized I wasn't alone in my endeavor. Swarms of gnats and mosquitoes emerged, drawn to the magic of the golden hour. Undeterred, I set up my camera, adjusting the settings to accentuate the play of light and shadows on the bridge's majestic cables.
