“Old Union Station at Bristol” is a black and white photo restoration of an old photograph in my personal Historical Collection. The original image was taken circa 1920-1930s, and has 2 classic cars parked on the street in front of the depot.
The Bristol Train Station is located on the Virginia side of Bristol, TN-VA, a twin city divided by the state line down the middle of State Street, its main thoroughfare.
The Bristol Train Station, originally known as Union Station, was originally built in 1902 by the Norfolk and Western Railway Company. During World War II, the station played an important role in transporting troops and military equipment. The station's telegraph office was used to communicate with military bases across the country, and the station's facilities were used to repair and maintain military equipment.
