Description
"Solitude on Beaver Creek"... Rich in history, Beaver Creek attracted some of the Holston Region’s earliest pioneers including the Shelbys, Rheas, Looneys, Bakers, Kings and others. Initially known as “Shallow Creek”, the headwaters of Beaver Creek are located just northeast of Bristol, Virginia. The creek flows through the City of Bristol, continuing in a southwesterly direction, with its mouth emptying into the South Holston River just west of Bluff City in Northeast Tennessee. Over the years, Beaver Creek provided enough waterpower for several mills that dotted the creek throughout the course of its history.
