Description
I’m like a kid in a candy shop when I’m at the train station... any train station, and especially the old Union Depot, more recently known as the Bristol Train Station at Bristol, Virginia. Formerly a passenger depot, the train station now only serves cargo trains.
Seeing the cargo trains is a slower, more relaxed experience than watching for a passenger train. As the cargo train approaches the station, the sound of the locomotive and the rumble of the wheels are heard, signaling its arrival. The train's brakes squeal as it slows down, and the vibration of the ground can be felt. You often see a variety of different cargo cars in various sizes, each carrying a different type of product. And oh, the colors of those railcars! Wish I had had all those colors in a box of crayons when I was growing up... Uh, I still like to color, do you? Smiles.
And it’s surely prime time when you see the engineer or conductor grin and wave! It’s the simple things in life that I enjoy most

I love the adventure of a train also, and this one is like modern art at the same time… A bit abstracted

oh my dear Shelia, I so understand what you are saying. I feel the same way, though I am going back years. I have a love for old carriages and trains. This you really perfected here in color and beauty. And the story is wonderful because you are right: the ground trembles under your feet.

The lines in this are so wonderful Shelia, well seen and certainly well captured! the warn patchwork colors in these cargo containers pull you right into this image also, well done!

oh, how this brings back memories and the love for railways. Love this piece of art. Love the coloring, rich and powerful and yet subdued. It is truly perfect, Shelia.
