In my visit to the Old Mill Pond in Autumn, it was one of those blue-sky days that seemed surreal. The lake beautifully showcased the fall colors of the trees with their clear reflection in the water. Autumn in the Blue Ridge Mountains is like no other, and this photo captures its magic perfectly. I was in High Country at Banner Elk, North Carolina, not far from Grandfather Mountain when I took this shot. The tranquility of the moment was unmatched, with gentle winds and a stunning reflection in the little lake, formerly the old mill pond.
