Description
On a recent trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, I was mesmerized by this brilliant sunset over the Tennessee River. The Henley Street Bridge, adorned with enchanting purple lights, stood gracefully, casting a captivating reflection on the tranquil waters below. I took this long exposure from the Gay Street Bridge, with ever so many cars whizzing by.... I was determined to get the shot. Smiles. Hope you enjoy it!
Nestled in the heart of East Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains, Knoxville boasts a rich history that echoes through its charming streets and historic landmarks. Established in the late 18th century, this city has witnessed the ebb and flow of time, evolving from a rough frontier settlement to a thriving hub of commerce and culture. Knoxville played a pivotal role during the Civil War, serving as a key industrial center. Over the years, it transformed into a vibrant community, marked by the iconic Sunsphere from the 1982 World's Fair that now stands tall on the skyline. Today, Knoxville balances its historical roots with modern energy, showcasing its resilience and spirit through a blend of preserved architecture, cultural festivals, and a welcoming Southern charm that defines its character. Among its may attractions, Knoxville is home to the Knoxville Zoo, Neyland Stadium, the World’s Fair Park, the Tennessee Theatre, the University of Tennessee, and Historic Old City.
